Volunteering
Volunteering at a local hospital is one of the best ways to explore a career in nursing. This, like everything else, has been impacted by the pandemic. Please reach out to your local hospital to explore their current requirements. It will also be a wonderful addition to college and scholarship applications. We encourage you to consider becoming a regular volunteer. Please use the links below to explore the options available.

Job Shadows
Each hospital has their own policy about job shadows. Most require that you become a volunteer, we encourage all students interested in nursing to ask about participating in a job shadow at the hospital. Spending several hours with a nurse is another wonderful way for you to explore a career in nursing.
Multicare Academy for Students in Healthcare Camp (M.A.S.H.)
If you’re a current high school sophomore or junior in Pierce or Kitsap County, we encourage you to check out Multicare’s Academy for Students in Healthcare Camp (formerly known as Nurse Camp). This week long free day camp experience is an amazing opportunity to explore nursing or other healthcare careers held each summer. In 2021, it was held virtually. Applications for M.A.S.H.
